I joined a startup video game company shortly after entering the field. It was a crazy exciting time not only getting a new company started but also starting to produce our very first video game. It took a few years of writing and coding but we finally had a polished game that looked great and was very player friendly when it came to the control setup. It was still lacking something though. Something about the game was just flat and our beta testers just couldn’t get into it. We realized the big problem was the voiceover work for our game wasnt up to snuff. We had hired local actors and they just didnt have what it took to really bring the game alive and hook the players into the experience.
